OGYF BURSARIES

The Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation has more than $2 million currently endowed at post-secondary institutions in Ottawa. Since inception, more than 760 bursaries valued at nearly $1.3 million have been awarded to youth.


We are currently expanding our reach into the Gatineau region by establishing endowment funds at three Gatineau based post-secondary institutions. You can help us reach out goal to establish bursaries for students in the Gatineau region!


Carleton University

Bell Canada/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

Awarded annually to a student in the second year of an Engineering or Science program and who is in need of financial assistance.


Daniel Alfredsson Scholarship in Mental Health

This scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding undergraduate students in the Neuroscience and Mental Health Program.

Just One Person/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursaries

The Just One Person Scholarship is awarded annually to a young person, currently or formerly, in the care of the Canadian child welfare system who demonstrates great achievement and promise as well as financial need.



La Cité Collégiale

Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

Awarded annually to a student in the second year of an Engineering or Science program and who is in need of financial assistance.


The University of Ottawa

Bell/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Education Bursary

Provides a bursary to a second-year student from the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Science who shows financial need.


Just One Person/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

The Just One Person Scholarship is awarded annually to a young person, currently or formerly, in the care of the Canadian child welfare system who demonstrates great achievement and promise as well as financial need.


Algonquin College

MBNA/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

Awarded annually to a student registered in a three-year Business program or a two-year Marketing of Sports Business Management program who can demonstrate financial need.


Military Families Fund/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

General Studies awarded annually to students at Pembroke, Perth or Woodroffe Campus. Consideration is given to military members, partners of military members and children of military members registered in a full-time program at Algonquin College.


Bell Canada/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

To be distributed annually to a student with financial need registered in the following School of Advances Technology programs after the second semester, with a B grade point average:

  • Bachelor of Applied Technology-Photonics
  • Bachelor of Information Technology – Network Technology
  • Electronics Engineering Technician
  • Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Photonics Engineering Technology


Brian Kilrea Leadership/Ottawa Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

To be distributed annually to a student in the Sports Business Management program after the second semester with a B grade point average.


Direct Energy/OGYF/Bill Patterson Memorial Bursary

This bursary will be awarded to students from each of the following programs at Algonquin College: Sports Business Management, Marketing, Broadcast Radio, and Broadcast Television. The applicants must show financial need, have a minimum B average and demonstrate a passion for the industry.


Just One Person/Ottawa-Gatineau Youth Foundation Bursary

The Just One Person Scholarship is awarded annually to a young person, currently or formerly, in the care of the Canadian child welfare system who demonstrates great achievement and promise as well as financial need.
